Elin Ritchie, M.D. is a medical doctor trained in Canada at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. She graduated from medical school in 1992, and from a family practice residency program in 1994. She is a Board Certified member of the American College of Family Practice (ACFP). Dr. Ritchie currently practices integrative medicine in Taos, New Mexico.

Approximately three months after I opened my practice in 2003, I saw a new patient complaining of fatigue, weight loss, inability to concentrate and very low energy. That day, talking with her in the office and examining her, I discovered that she had a tumor in her pelvis the size of a grapefruit. Further tests indicated that she had ovarian cancer.

In a long discussion with her, I outlined different possibilities for treatment and further diagnosis. I immediately put her on Del-Immune V® at a fairly high dose. Two weeks later, on the day of her surgery, I spoke to her. She said that her energy had increased and that she was feeling strong and ready to go through the surgery. The planned surgery was very long and complicated, one in which it was possible that they would remove not only the tumor, but also part of her intestine, which would leave her wearing a colostomy bag. She was not looking forward to that, but she was willing to do whatever was necessary to remove the tumor. As it turned out, the tumor was easily removed without having to remove any intestine. When I spoke to her surgeon just after her surgery, he said he was surprised; it appeared that the tumor has started to pull away from the surrounding tissue and that the outer layer of the tumor had started to dissolve. He said that the tumor appeared to have shrunk prior to the surgery.

This patient chose alternative treatment for the ovarian cancer. Here I should tell you that ovarian cancer has a very poor cure rate; with all conventional medical treatments, success rates are extremely low. Patients have about a 30 percent survival rate after the first three years and they don’t count after five years because almost no one makes it.

Given the terrible odds of treatment, this patient decided to go with alternative therapies only. She took some herbs, followed a dietary program, and most importantly, stayed on high doses of Del-Immune V® throughout the first year after her diagnosis. When rechecked one year later, all evidence of the cancer was gone, all blood tests were clear and her pelvic exam was normal. It was as if nothing had happened. The other day I ran into her at the grocery store, as often happens in a small town. I invited her to come back to the office for evaluation. My recent evaluation with her a full three years after her diagnosis showed no evidence of any illness whatsoever. This is only one case, but it has been very dramatic to see such a miraculous event right in front of my eyes.

I have one patient who was diagnosed with prostate cancer at a very high level of bony metastasis. He has now lived for 18 months, and he is on a slow decline; however, when I first met him and saw how high his PSA levels were, I did not expect him to live more than an additional three to six months, no matter what therapies were applied.

As far as radiation and chemotherapy treatment go, in my experience, Del-Immune V® lessened the sickness directly related to the treatments while not impacting their effectiveness. I have used it often in patients with cancer, some of them continue with regular medical therapies and use Del-immune V along with the chemotherapy or whatever else is planned. My patients have been happy to use Del-immune V during chemo and radiation because they tolerate their treatments so much better than without the product. I believe that when clinical studies are done, we will see that Del-Immune V® increases the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation on diseased tissue while decreasing the “die-off” of healthy tissue. In effect, Del-Immune V® probably concentrates the treatment to diseased cells.
